Monthly meetings are a great place to meet other members, tell stories, take part in the contest each month and keep up on what our group is doing..

MEETINGS

Next meeting, August 21, 2008

Bellingham Country Club

3729 Meridian St

Bellingham, WA

You will be notified of the menu selection in the weekly reminders that Angie Huggins sends out. You will need to let Angie know by email or phone before 9:00 PM on the Sunday evening prior to our monthly meetings if you plan on eating at the meeting. Of course, even if you choose not to eat with us, we still encourage you to attend the meeting for the conversations and to hear about chapter plans, safety issues, shop doings…and, naturally, to participate in the Chrome Cash giant give away.

The meal costs will be $15.00 inclusive of all charges and you will be able to purchase beverages of your choice.

We will start arriving at the Country Club between 5:30 PM and 6:00 PM. Dinner and the meeting will be held in the same place where we have had our Christmas party for the previous two years. Angie will have a table set up to collect your cash or checks for dinner. Checks should be made out to Bellingham Country Club. If you order dinner and cannot attend, you will still need to pay for your dinner as the chapter cannot accept liability and incur the added cost.

A dinner buffet will begin at 6:00 PM and the business meeting will begin at 7:00 PM.

You do not need to purchase dinner to attend the meeting, but you will be missing a really good meal.

There is a large parking lot but try to park 2-4 bikes per parking space and in the rows of spaces closest to the entry from Meridian. The spaces in the upper lot (right in front of the clubhouse) are reserved for Country Club members who have a parking sticker on their vehicles. Out of respect to all those using the facility, we ask that you do not rev your pipes riding into or out of the parking lot.

NEWS REGARDING OUR MEETINGS

Beginning with our June chapter meeting, there will be a beverage charge for members who don't order meals but who do want to drink the coffee on the tables. The country club has been providing coffee for those who purchase meals but many of our members haven't realized that the coffee wasn't free. The fact is that the country club agreed to host our meetings in their banquet rooms for no room rental charge in return for our purchasing meals and beverages. They point out that even though we have 70 - 80 people attending the meetings only 40 - 45 actually purchase meals, yet most of the other one-half of attendees have been drinking the coffee.

So, this month, when you come to the meeting, we will have the check-in table set up for you to pay either the $15 for a meal and coffee, or $3 if you want to just drink coffee or soda (available at the bar).

As you know the $15 includes the meal, tip/service charge and tax (which means that the meal actually costs you $11.73 plus tax and tip). We will decorate the back of your hand with a stamp that signifies whether you are an eater or just a drinker...or, no stamp means that you won't be eating or drinking (unless you order a soda or other drink from the bar and pay for it at that time). You will also get a nice check by your name on the Road Warrior point record during the check-in. Please contact Billie Marrs with questions or concerns: synergylw@comcast.net
